Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to welcome you to the Athens Pituitary Meeting 2026 – An Interdisciplinary Perspective, taking place on Saturday, 23 May 2026 at Attikon University Hospital (AKISA Building, Amphitheater 5), Athens.
Pituitary disease sits at the crossroads of neurosurgery and endocrinology, and extends naturally into neuro-ophthalmology, neuroradiology, radiation oncology, and pathology. Optimal outcomes require not only profound knowledge and technical excellence, but also thoughtful, coordinated decision-making: from the initial clinical presentation and endocrine evaluation, to peri-operative management, adjuvant strategies, and long-term follow-up.
This meeting is designed to provide a focused, practical, and evidence-informed update on the contemporary management of pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs) and sellar/parasellar lesions. We will address real-world challenges across the spectrum of disease, including functioning PitNETs, giant pituitary tumors, pituitary apoplexy, inflammatory and cystic sellar lesions, and complex skull base tumors in and around the sella, with dedicated time for interactive discussion and shared-care pathways.
We are honored to host international participation alongside leading Greek experts. Through short, high-yield lectures and multidisciplinary panels, our aim is to bring disciplines into true dialogue, so that imaging informs endocrine strategy, endocrine insight refines surgical planning, and pathology and adjuvant options close the loop into durable, patient-centered follow-up.
We look forward to welcoming medical students, residents, community and academic clinicians, and all healthcare professionals involved in pituitary care—as well as patients.
We are confident that this seminar will provide fertile ground for the exchange of ideas, fostering collaborations that will ultimately improve the quality of life for our patients.
We wish you a productive and inspiring meeting.
With kind regards,
